Experience That Matters

Common Questions
A public adjuster is a licensed professional who can help property owners document, prepare, and present an insurance claim. The role focuses on supporting the policyholder through the claims process.
A public adjuster represents the policyholder — the individual, family, or business owner — rather than the insurance company.
An insurance company adjuster evaluates a claim on behalf of the carrier. A public adjuster works on behalf of the property owner to help organize, document, prepare, and present the claim.
You may consider reaching out after a property loss, or whenever you want help understanding, organizing, or presenting a property insurance claim. Timing and suitability depend on the circumstances of each claim.
In many situations, policyholders may still seek assistance after a claim has already been filed. Whether public adjusting services are appropriate depends on the individual claim and circumstances.
Yes. Ruiz Adjusting can discuss both residential and commercial property claims.
Flood-related property claims may be discussed as part of the practice. Coverage and options depend on the individual policy and the circumstances of the loss.
Public adjusters are typically compensated under a written agreement with the policyholder, often related to the claim proceeds. Fee arrangements vary and should be discussed directly so the terms are clear before any engagement.
If you are dealing with property damage or already have an insurance claim underway, start with a conversation.
